Saints Focused Ahead Of Salford Clash

Whilst the pundits look ahead and attempt align potential semi-final opponents, Justin Holbrook wants Saints to focus on this Thursday only, and the trip to Salford.

Nothing less than a win is good enough for his side to put them into pole position for one of the two remaining playoff spots.

“It is a good feeling to have it back in our control,” he said. “But we have a big game to play on Thursday and that is what our focus is on and what we are looking forward to.

“We have to go there and want to play well. Obviously they can’t make the top four but that doesn’t mean we can take the game lightly. Sides like Castleford and Leeds have shown that. They have made the top four but have been delivering every week.

“For us it is the same thing. We finally have got it in our own hands and there is no reason to take it easy.

“Robert Lui has been outstanding all year, then you have Junior Sa’u and Manu Vatuvei too. There are plenty of players with experience at Salford and we can’t give them opportunities to play well.”

He continued: “We can’t look further ahead than Thursday. Winning our last two games has given us some momentum and even the games we have lost in we have played well.

“We have to knuckle down and if we get the job done then we can look ahead.”
