St.Helens players Ciaran Nolan and Jake Davies have joined Salford Red Devils on initial two-week loans.
Our two young Saints come into immediate contention for Salford, who are scheduled to take on Hull FC away at the MKM Stadium this Sunday, 10th August, in Round 21 of the Betfred Super League 2025. A week later, in Round 22, the Red Devils are scheduled to take on Wakefield Trinity at home at the Salford Community Stadium on Sunday, 17th August.
Should either Ciaran or Jake play for the Red Devils, they would make their official Super League debuts.
Both are proud products of the Saints Academy, and all involved at the Club would like to wish them the absolute best for their loan period with Salford.
Ciaran Nolan is proudly sponsored at the Saints by Liam Kirkham Technical Services.
20-year-old hooker Nolan joined St.Helens from local community club Rylands Sharks as a Scholarship player at the age of fourteen. Originally a half, he made the move to the nine spot as he stepped into our training environment.
In the 2023 season, Ciaran was a part of our successful Academy Championship winning team. The following season saw him continue his progression with more match appearances for our Reserves team, including in our Reserves Grand Final victory last September over Wigan.
During 2024, Nolan also made his professional debut for Swinton Lions, where he made three match appearances in the campaign. His performances saw him earn a spot in the Saints’ First Team ranks for the first time ahead of the 2025 season.
After suffering an injury early in the season, Ciaran was sadly restricted and needed to work on his injury rehab, but in recent weeks has made his return to the field with our Reserves team, playing in St.Helens’ last two fixtures in the competition.

Jake Davies is proudly at the Saints by Solenis.
Davies is a 19-year-old back-rower who joined St.Helens from community side Halton Farnworth Hornets, and is the younger brother of former Saint Ben Davies.
Jake has progressed through our Academy system, including international selection at the Under 18s level, before stepping into the First Team at Saints for the first time ahead of the 2025 season.
Earlier in the 2025 season, Davies made his professional debut by appearing for the Saints’ dual registration partners Swinton Lions in a win over Whitehaven in the Betfred League One competition. So far to date he has played for the Lions on eight occasions, however, Jake has also featured for the Saints Reserves team nine times in 2025 too.
Best of luck to Ciaran & Jake, we are sure they will do the Saints proud whilst out on loan. Go well, gents!
