Head Coach Paul Wellens reviews the Saints 26-24 victory over Castleford Tigers in Round 27 of the Betfred Super League 2025.
For Wellens, the main thing was just getting the win after a few tough weeks without one — and with the Play-Offs only a week away, it came at the right time.
He was happy with how the new lads stepped up too — Shane Wright, Jake Davies, and Leon Cowen (in only his second outing) all put in strong shifts in a much-changed Saints side.
Afterwards, Wellens made it clear the team should be frustrated with their last ten minutes, reminding them that switching off against any side can cost you, as the Tigers showed late on.
Now, with the Eliminator Play-Off against Leeds Rhinos confirmed, Wellens knows exactly what kind of battle is coming, and that it’ll be the little moments that make all the difference.
