The Saints first chance to get back on the horse after the traumatic events of the previous defeat to our nearest and dearest was with a long early morning trip to London to face the Broncos in their own back yard, writes Graham Henthorne.

Never the easiest to defeat, be it at home or away, the Saints had to face down their demons, along with the Broncos, without Matty Lees.

They started in the best possible fashion and built up a 12 point lead first half lead due to tries from Josh Eaves and Evan Bullen.

But the Saints were never in control and failed to build upon their lead actually losing the second half with only a penalty goal from Brad Billsborough to show for their efforts.

The display showed all the signs of the ills of the season with possession being frittered away and little positive coming out of it.

Widnes Vikings are the next team to visit the Totally Wicked as a curtain raiser to the main event against the senior side.
