Saints Community Development Foundation have launched a Reminisce Café at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
The first event saw Foundation Ambassador Tommy Martyn discuss his memories and thoughts on the 1999 Super League Grand Final win.
Since the first session we have been holding bi-weekly events which have been growing week on week.
Each session sees a club legend visiting and having a quick chat with Brad and answer a few questions from the Café’s attendees.
Up to now we have been visited by several club legends including Tommy Martyn, Eric Chisnall, Billy Benyon, Paul Wellens, Ade Gardner, Harry Pinner, Peter Harvey and Chris Arkwright.
First team players such as Ben Barba have also appeared at the event.
Also on the day we show footage of our town and our club throughout their history, and have a short quiz with a prize for the winner.
We have loads of old photographs to browse through and even have some time for a few chair exercises to work off lunch.
Foundation Director Steve Leonard said: “It is a great feeling to be in a position to make such events happen within our Community and would like to thank every one of the Friends of the Foundation whose donations help make programmes like this one possible.
“Also big thanks to the Saints club themselves for providing such tremendous facility for us to enjoy.”
If you feel that a family member would benefit from coming along to our Reminiscence Café or if you would like any further information please email Steve Leonard on [email protected] for more details.
