Danielle McGifford was a new signing for the Red V when she joined the Club ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Born on the 11th April in Crewe, McGifford plays as a winger, and has sought to push herself in a brand new sport, having not played a competitive game of rugby league before joining Saints. However, a brilliant sportswoman, Dani was a heptathlete and showed signs of being able to make it as a rugby player.

In her first rugby league match McGifford scored a brace of tries in a 76-0 2023 pre-season victory over Bradford Bulls.

Dani then went on to make her official debut during the opening game of the 2023 season in York, earning Heritage Number 45 for St.Helens Women. In her first season, she went on to score three tries in four appearances.

McGifford made four more appearances in 2024, boasting an astounding ten tries for her efforts.
