Roby Leads Again!

JAMES Roby is the Frontline Index Player of the Week for the second successive round after another outstanding display – this time against Salford City Reds.

Roby scored 929 index points to edge out Wigan Warriors full-back Sam Tomkins and claim first place in the rankings for Round 2.

Three other players join Roby in the team for the second week in a row. Leeds Rhinos winger Ben Jones-Bishop, Wigan Warriors centre George Carmont and Castleford Tigers stand-off Rangi Chase were once again the highest scoring players in their position.

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats centre Chris Dean, Saints scrum-half Kyle Eastmond and Warrington Wolves winger Joel Monaghan make up the rest of the back division in the Frontline Index Team of the Week.

Hull Kingston Rovers second row Clint Newton and Hull FC loose forward Craig Fitzgibbon are accompanied in the back row by Wakefield’s Frankie Mariano, who excelled in the Wildcats’ surprise 38-14 victory against Catalan Dragons in Perpignan.

Veteran props Adrian Morley and Andy Lynch from Warrington Wolves and Bradford Bulls, respectively, earned the final places in the Frontline Team of the Week for Round 2.

Points are calculated from every action made by players, every involvement is given a points value depending on the importance and frequency of the action. For example a try would be the highest scoring value, with actions such as tackles and carries scoring smaller values. Mistakes such as handling errors or penalties conceded would incur negative values.

At the end of a match, all the players’ actions will be added together to give a game score. The 13 individuals with the highest scores in each position on the field of play will earn inclusion in the Frontline Index Team of the Week with the highest scoring individual earning the Frontline Index Player of the Week title.

The player with the single most outstanding performance during the regular season will win the Frontline Index and be presented with a £1,000 cheque at the 2011 Engage Super League Man Of Steel dinner.
