Match Preview: Wakefield vs Saints

Saints take on Wakefield Trinity on Friday with kick off at 5:30pm at Leeds' Emerald Headingley Stadium and as always we have all the information you need right here in our match preview!

BACKGROUND…

It’s top of the Betfred Super League, Saints, against the bottom, Wakefield on Friday with this week’s games taking place at Emerald Headingley.

Friday night’s clash will be the first of two games in which the two sides go head to head in successive game weeks. The Saints were set to face Chris Chester’s men back in August, but after a COVID-19 incident, we ended up facing Castleford meaning Trinity will now be our opponents for two week’s running.

Saints head into this one on the back of a convincing victory in the derby last week and are unbeaten in the Betfred Super League since the restart and Saints fans will be hoping that run can continue.

Wakefield on the other hand haven’t registered a victory since the restart and arrive on the back of a 40-8 defeat to Catalans over in Perpignan at the weekend. They sit bottom and will be hoping they can pull off a shock on Friday.

Wakefield CEO, Michael Carter today also confirmed they have had one positive Covid-19 test and have been forced to stand down a number of other players due to track and trace.
