Women’s Academy enjoy signing night

Ahead of the first competitive Women's Academy season kicking off, St.Helens Women's Academy team were invited alongside their families to come to the Totally Wicked Stadium for a signing evening.

The Saints’ Under 19s Women side were previously playing friendly fixtures in however for the first time in 2025 there will be a competitive campaign, further enhancing the growth and development of young women’s rugby league players.

Women’s Academy Head Coach Graham Cranny, Assistant Coach of the Women’s First Team, has alongside fellow members of our Women’s youth coaching staff prepped our Under 19 Women’s Saints for a twelve-round season.

This Saturday our home ground will host an exciting occasion with a Double Header of Women’s action against Leeds Rhinos with our Women’s Academy up first, followed by the start of the 2025 Betfred Women’s Super League season.

In the first fixture, many of the girls who will run out on the Totally Wicked Stadium field will do so for the very first time and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Saints Women’s Academy graduates who are now First Teamers, players such as; Katie Mottershead, Caitlin Maylor, Erin McDonald, Amy Taylor, Alyx Bridge and Luci McColm.

The Club would like to wish our Women’s Academy team the very best for their first competitive season.
