SQUAD NEWS
Coach Wellens makes three changes to the squad he last declared from Round 13, with Jack Welsby, Mark Percival and Lewis Murphy sadly injured following the match against Hull KR.
Kyle Feldt and Joe Batchelor are back available for selection following injuries, and Jon Bennison is the third Saint that steps in.

Paul Rowley welcomes back three senior men after a week with no action due to the Challenge Cup Final, with Joe Mellor, Chris Hill and Shane Wright set to return from injuries. However, Salford will be without their star centre Nene Macdonald who has taken unpaid leave to return home to Australia.
Youngster Sam Hill retains his place after making his debut last time out against Wigan. It is also an intriguing fixture for Saints loanee Jonny Vaughan who has been playing for the Red Devils since the end of March and could see him come up against his parent club on Sunday.

The star prop forward shared his feelings after reaching 300 matches played for St.Helens R.F.C., despite it coming on a night for the Red V to forget against Hull KR.
Ahead of going to Salford on Sunday, Walmsley knows that their team will be desperate to earn a second Super League win of the year and credits the spirit they have shown in difficult circumstances so far this season.

THE RECORD AGAINST SALFORD
The Saints dominate the head-to-head between the two clubs in the top-flight competition. St Helens have played Salford in Super League on 61 occasions, with the Red V winning 50 times (including the 2019 Grand Final victory, and the 2022 semi-final.)
Our highest score over Salford before this season came in 2001 when we beat the Red Devils by 66 points to 16, whilst our widest margin was previously was back in 2000 away, winning 58-4. However, back in Round One this year, against a Red Devils side that was largely changed due to salary cap and sustainability limitations, the Saints recorded Super League’s biggest-ever winning margin 82 points to nil.

💬 COACH PREVIEW
Despite all Salford’s off-field issues this season, Wellens is aware that the Red Devils at their home can be a challenging side and is not getting drawn into any prediction of the game’s result.
The only thing he wants from his team, is for them to show they are willing to work hard for one another, and put in a strong performance, and if they do, the result should take care of itself.

WEARING THE RED V
Whilst it is an away match, the Saints’ 2025 Home Kit will be worn on Sunday afternoon in Salford!
Taking centre stage, the iconic Saints crest has been transformed into a futuristic holographic badge and is placed in the centre of the shirt for the first time in 16 years. The shirt has elasticated sleeve cuffs that feature a woven oval SH pattern taken from one of the core elements of the Club crest, with the SH also watermarked into the Red V and on the side panels of the shorts.
