Leeds desperately throw the ball around again, they kick on their last and Welsby clears it out for a GLDO, but the ref pulls it back for a Leeds penalty.

Saints have been having to deal with a lot of second phase ball, Leeds chucking it about trying to unlock the Red V defence but we keep fighting well.

Leeds on the last pass it out to the right edge, they kick back inside but Bentley knocks on.

Welsby and a Leeds man then come together and it’s one in, all in with the pushing and shoving.

Wow, what a collection of a bouncing kick from Bennison with Handley looking to catch it from Croft by our own line.

Croft lofts the ball high and Blake collects it but can’t get out of the in-goal. GLDO for Leeds.

🔄 Sironen off, Batchelor on.

Bennison makes a tackle on Leeds who have numbers on the left, but he knocks on as they try get the ball out. By the halfway line they will attack.

Once again on the last we have Leeds starting a set on their own line. Lomax drops a ball off for Hurrell, he charges to the line but four Rhinos stop him inches off the line.

Croft goes for a chip to the right corner, Blake collects it and gets down to the ground well.

Solid defence from the Saints, Lisone gets cut down by Wingfield and then we force Miller to throw the ball in touch.

Saints with the first threat in this half, Mbye’s spiral is allowed to bounce into our hands, we feed Bennison who kicks back inside and we tackle the Leeds man who catches it.

However, we concede an offside penalty

Forty minutes, four points the difference, and a spot in the final eight of the Challenge Cup up for grabs.

38′ Again with Leeds on their own line, we go close, Sironen tries a dummy half scoot but the ball is stripped illegally.

Saints go for the kick, and Lomax pulls it wide.

Saints off another Leeds penalty push by the Rhinos line, Lomax almost jukes his way to the line but Mata’utia on the next play looks for an offload to Bell who knocks on.

Curtis Sironen! What a tackle on Frawley, the South Stand at Headingley all felt that one!

Both sides have traded a number of errors, Leeds have had their first major attack inside our 20m but Welsby fielded a chip kick well to stop the threat.

Mbye with a fantastic spiral kick moves us out of our own half after a strong Leeds defending set.

Frawley with Rhinos getting their first real chance to try attack inside our 20m chips and Welsby takes it and stays in touch off a great take.

Once again, St.Helens have Rhinos pushed back but Welsby tries a grubber but Lachie Miller handles it well and we concede an offside penalty.

Saints come up with an error of their own though, Mata’utia is judged to have knocked on at the play of the ball.

Leeds then give another error back, they knock on off a big hit and then stay on the tackle for a penalty

More good attack from the Saints has Leeds back in their own half, but Sironen is penalised for crossing behind Lomax.

St.Helens firm up and force Momirovski into touch!

Good attacking set from the first points, we end it with Leeds by their own line.

🌧 Some heavy rain has just started here at Headingley too.

Saints more in control at the start of the game, Lomax tries to evade the Rhinos on the left edge and he gets the ball stripped.

St.Helens elect to go for the two.

Our players push close again, Welsby tries to find Bennison on the wing but he cuts back in to ensure he stays in the field.

Welsby on the last goes for a crash ball to Sironen but we’re a metre short.

Leeds knock on as they try come out their own half, on the last Clark tries to get a grubber off near the try line but Sangare just about juggles it and stops us for now.

A better start from Saints than last week, a penalty lets us attack and Mbye gets us into goodball quickly.

Walmsley tries to power over the line but is judged to have knocked on as he did.

Paul Wellens has revealed in his gameday update that Lewis Dodd unfortunately misses out after playing tough last week and will be monitored to ensure it’s nothing too long term
