We force a GLDO, with 50 seconds left.
Wolves try to go for a one-pointer to rub salt in the wounds, but the pass out to the man who would have taken it is poor.
No try confirmed.
Warrington get the ball back after we lost it, 20m off our own line.
A Wolves forward sought to power over from a short crash ball. Referee is right in front of it, calls no try and sends it up to the VR.
An offside penalty is given against Saints, the Wolves use the set well and push us back towards our own line using all the tackles.
Saints really throwing the ball about now, trying to scratch any way they can to get late scores.
Welsby with an outrageous run around the field, before Whitby’s kick to the right corner was taken by the hosts.

A rare penalty gave us territory, and we work it out right.

Sailor juggles a high kick but holds onto it.

Ashton comes off, Irwin on in his stead for his debut.

The Saints have Wolves on the backfoot, Sailor dabs a smart kick into the right corner and Mark times his run really well to ground it.
Video ref is called for, sent up as a try.
Whitby kicks a big cross field ball, King looked to obstruct Percival from attempting to jump for it, but Saints judged to have knocked on.
More good defence work by Saints, Paasi with a big shot on Walker.
Saints on the last throw it about, Sailor with a huge pass back inside with Wolves back by their own 10m line.
Percival and Whitley pass it between them. Mark then tries one more pass into Paasi but the prop knocks on
The Red V push the Wolves back towards their own 20m line, Whitby reverses a high kick back out to the left edge but Warrington rise highest to it.
Warrington on their left edge have King kick it out, Ashton knocked it into Sailor’s hands.
The referee has the Video Ref take another look it seems, not a Wolves challenge though.
Warrington kick well, the ball hangs in the in-goal and Sailor has to take it out of dodge.
He does so very well.

On the last the Wire run it back to him, with King providing the final killer pass.
Let off from the Wolves, Saints lose the ball on the fourth tackle behind ourselves which Clark leaps on to stop the danger. Just as we were going into their territory.

After we finally get a chance in good-ball position, Knowles trying to fire himself in with a big run knocks on, our fifth (I think) of the half so far. Frustrating.

Sironen gets a wild offload 10m off his own line, Walmsley can’t take it cleanly and Warrington will have a golden chance early on.
Brilliant defence from the Saints, especially from Percival with two brilliant tackles in a dangerous Wolves set.
Sneyd tries a kick to the corner, but Warrington lose it in a scramble.

Saints go close, but a pass on the last out to the right wing goes to ground and Bennison has to leap on it.
Whitby kicks a big one across field and high, Sailor leads the chase and tackles Thewlis well.
Following the error, Saints do well in defence, Sneyd just beyond the 40m line looks like he goes for a 40/20 but it is far too strong and runs out in the in-goal.

Percival in the tackle by Tai is judged to have knocked on, Mark looks to the ref for a Tai’s hand pulling but not given.
Sneyd goes for a kick on the fourth, it comes off a Saints hand so the hosts have another set just inside our half. However, the hosts then give away an offside penalty, Thewlis running behind Yates.
A poor Warrington pass went loose, Knowles makes the tackle but the ball comes out and is judged as Wolves ball.
Solid first set for the Saints, moving just into the Wolves half before a Whitby booming kick went high up.
Marc Sneyd’s boot gets us going, the Saints have the away end behind them in the first half.
