Saints ran in six tries to beat Playoff rivals Wakefield Trinity 4-34 at the DIY Kitchens Stadium!
First Half
It took seven for the Red V to take the lead. Saints marched downfield with the ball and Jonny Lomax went close initially. The hosts then moved it left the following play and Alex Walmsley broke through a gap after collecting Morgan Knowles’ pass to score. Kyle Feldt added the extras, 0-6 Saints led.
Six minutes later, the visitors had a second try. Moses Mbye’s high kick in midfield was claimed by Owen Dagnall down the left edge, he cut inside and found Knowles in support who scored under the sticks to increase our lead. Wakefield challenged the decision, but the try stood. Feldt added another two points, 0-12.
Just after the midway point of the first half, Wakefield went down a man. Saints broke downfield following an error and were halted by a professional foul by Oliver Pratt. He saw yellow for the incident and the visitors had a penalty. The Red V opted to go for two points, Feldt obliged and made it 0-14.
26 minutes in, Saints had a third try. The visitors broke down the right edge almost immediately from kick off. Harry Robertson finds Feldt who breaks and then found Jonny Lomax, he found Daryl Clark who scores under the posts in his 400th career game. Feldt added another two points, 0-20.
With less than ten minutes to go until the break, Saints then lost a man for ten minutes. George Delaney caught a Wakefield man high and saw yellow.
The hosts took advantage almost instantly. Mason Lino throws a cut-out pass to Lachlan Walmsley who finished in the corner. Max Jowitt was unable to add the conversion, 4-20 Saints led at the break.
Second Half
Nine minutes into the second half, the Red V had another four-pointer. Saints moved the ball through the hands from left to right on the last tackle, Tristan Sailor kicked low and Robertson finished well in the corner as the hosts tried to let the ball go out. Feldt was unable to convert, 4-24 Saints led.
Feldt then grabbed a try of his own. Wakefield threw a loose pass in midfield which was picked up by Feldt who raced half the length of the field unopposed to score under the posts. He turned his four points into six with the extras, 4-30.
He made it a brace in the final minutes. Robertson broke down the middle before eventually being halted short of the line. Saints work it right and Lomax found Feldt with a great cut-out pass to score in the corner. He was unable to convert, 4-34.
Those were the final points of the game, as Saints proved clinical to beat Wakefield Trinity 4-34 at the DIY Kitchens Stadium and move up to fourth place in the table.

Mbye is just about able to get a kick away on the last tackle which Sailor jumps and claims but he is tackled 30 metres from the Trinity line.
The hosts try to bully their way down the middle of the Saints defence but the Red V once again hold firm and force the turnover on the last!
Saints lose the ball in a one-on-one tackle and Wakefield have the ball back on halfway.

Saints spend another set camped in the Wakefield half. This time Mbye’s high kick towards the posts is spilled backwards and the hosts come up with it.
Down the other end Saints work it well down the right edge, Feldt breaks and tries to find Sailor on his inside but the ball goes to ground.
Wakefield think they’re over for their second try of the evening but the final pass to Pratt is ruled forward
A penalty pushes Saints into the Wakefield half and we spend a set in good field position.
On the last tackle we go right but Lomax is tackled and the hosts force a turnover.
Wakefield try and move the ball wide on their left edge but good Saints pressure sees the ball dribble into touch!

Mbye finds Percival who breaks down the left wing before Hall drags him down.

Trueman attempts to kick a 40/20 and the bounce is favourable to the hosts but Sailor claims it and pushes Saints back the other way.
