Saints Community Development Foundation work very closely In a number of sessions with YMCA. Our disability sessions are set in St Helens College, Mill Green and Lansbury Bridge specialist education schools in the St Helens Borough. Our work provides a fun welcoming environment allowing those of all abilities to enjoy sports and activities. It also gives them the chance to develop friendships within the groups.
The Learning Disability Rugby League Team aims provide all those in our Community with learning disabilities the chance to be part of a Rugby League side. Their debut season was a success, beating Warrington LDRL 40-36 in their very first fixture.
The team then went on throughout the season playing Widnes and taking part in an annual LDRL festival in Blackpool with other Super League LDRL sides.
The team provides the players with new opportunities, friendships and a chance to have fun, whilst playing the sport they love.
Community Integrated Care Sessions
Community Integrated Care sessions are fun welcoming sessions designed for those under the care of CIC.
Saints Community Development Foundation kicked off an accessible sports programme for people supported by Community Integrated Care living in St Helens – many of whom are huge Saints fans.
At each session, participants take part in relay activities, team games and physical exercises, promoting their health and well being. It is also a fantastic opportunity for the participants and their carers to socialise and make new friends within the sessions.
