In a last ditch effort to score after the hooter, Lomax kicks into the left corner for Vaughan to chase but it’s just out of play.

Now a knock-on as we go into the Wolves half again.

Wolves though kick out on the full after it.

Saints once more just get into the Wolves half but can’t break through them to get a score back.

Lomax chips ahead, Batchelor tries to chase but the Wolves get there first.

Ritson takes bomb well, racing to try catch the Wolves line out but no good.

The Saints get the ball back off a ricochet following a chip kick, 10m out. Mbye passes to Knowles, Morgan passes to Delaney and he grounds the ball – but video ref called for and no try signalled.

Ashton free and in space on the wing but Jack Welsby strongly takes him into touch. What a tackle!

Mata’utia tries to free up Bennison to take us out of our own 20, Jon tries to avoid being taken into touch but loses the ball.

We hold the hosts out, jumping on a short kick.

Saints are back on their own line, Drinkwater dabs a kick into the try-area and Blake stops Bateman from chasing. Penalty given against Saints but the ref goes up to the VR signalling no try.

Warrington on the charge towards our line get penalised for obstruction, Saints need to find more goodball position for more often.

Saints get up to 30m out, a strong run from Delaney helped. On the last a pass misses Mbye and Bennison chips ahead, Whitley who is onside makes an immediate tackle on Taylor-Wray.

Strong defence from Saints, Burns in particular on Toby King. Ritson leaps for a kick, catches and is taken out in the air for a penalty.

Lomax gets taken high, but straight from the restart, we pass forward… Frustrating.

Mbye charged down a Williams kick, Mata’utia then leapt on the loose ball well.

Burns with a route one carry off the play of the ball gets us to halfway, but Lomax’s pass to Mbye is too high and then Welsby collects to kick it.

Good recovery catch from Ritson, the Wolves chipped ahead early and our winger sprinted back to catch it.

Saints push Wolves back to their own line, Walmsley off a short Knowles ball goes inches away. Mbye then floats a kick but we can’t make it pay.

Yet another let off for the hosts, a judged high shot in their own 10m.

Walker attempts a 40/20 but the kick goes out on the full.

Our first sight-line of the Wolves’ red zone and a pass goes out to Sionem and he can’t take it cleanly. A let off for the hosts again.

Welsby now at fullback leaves a kick for a tap 20m restart, the Wolves forced to kick from the halfway line again.

Saints keep the Wire in their own half to start the second period. Robertson caught a Williams kick well, but he’s judged to have dropped it as he went to play it.

Welsby with his first bit off attack sees him join the left edge, but Mata’utia’s final pass out to Bennison is forward.

Warrington get held in their own 40, some real grunt in our defence there.

Batchelor chases a kick perfectly and tackles a Wolves man immediately!

Brilliant scramble defence from the Saints, Mbye on Williams stops an attacking kick.

Robertson with a heroic last ditch tackle on Toby King to stop the Wire centre scoring, and then we hold another Warrington man up.

Warrington get another helping hand from some Saints ill-discipline, a late tackle by Lees is penalised.

Mbye attempts a spiral again, but this one is far too strong and the Wolves get a tap 20 restart.

Good recovery tackle from Knowles on Philbin as he started making some ground.

RUNNNN from Delaney he knocked Powell back and skittled him.

Powell goes for a kick from dummy half but Bennison dropped for the 40/20 attempt and caught it well.

We kick high and again the chase is very strong, we look now to keep Warrington deeper.

We are back up to a full compliment of players now, Lees returns to the field.

Williams must kick again from his own half, Robertson has been dealing with his bombs rather well.

Saints beyond the midway point, but not by much and the chase on Ashton is strong to cut him down.

Good reply from the Saints, Wire held by the halfway line.

The Red V once more struggling to get out of their own half, but a spiral kick from Mbye looks dangerous but Ashton takes it off the bounce.

🔄 Walmsley off, Delaney on.

Warrington straight from the scrum though look to have a half break, but Taylor-Wray pass out to Ashton goes out on the side.

Blake makes an intercept to stop the threat, but as we move out to the halfway line, we knock on.

From the penalty Wire go to their right, but they’re held out however they will go again after another judged late hit.

Ritson clears out a chipped kick from Williams intended for Ashton.

Let off again though for the hosts, Walmsley gets an offload away to Burns and the young hooker passes out but we knock on first.

Batchelor with a diving effort on a loose ball and then he makes the tackle and forces a Wolves man to knock on. Great effort Batch!

Wolves get a reliving penalty in their own 20m, with Saints judged for laying on too long in the tackle.

Wolves on the backfoot, Burns on the last tries a short drive over with Walmsley but our #8 is held short.

Very good D from the Saints, Wolves in their own 40m this time.

Blake and Lees almost broke the line but the centre’s run was just a touch too early.

The Red V reply with a good defensive set of their own, Wolves by the halfway line must kick.

Robertson’s take it clean and good.

Knowles takes our final carry in our half, a Mbye kick is taken by Ashton. Wire did well keeping Saints pinned after the opening points.

Mbye’s kick is knocked into our hands by Wire, we get another set and then Knowles takes a carry but is taken high.

Early error from the hosts, Batchelor takes a big carry in and knocks Powell down but there’s no attempt to wrap – penalty.
