What scramble from Saints, Leigh broke the line but we kept them out and a small barge over is attempted on the last but very well stopped.

On the last Dodd tries a chip to the left corner, our men think Leigh knocked on but nothing given.

More good defence from St.Helens, Leigh kick from their own 40m and Bennison dropped early to catch it well.

O’Brien’s kick is allowed to bounce and cuts between Welsby and Bennison, it allows Leigh more time to chase.

Leopards go to attack our left edge, but a fired out pass is not caught by McIntosh.

A first six-again for the Saints, but as we attempt to unlock Bennison on the wing Percival’s pass is intercepted by McIntosh.

Dodd with a brilliant scramble back to stop the winger.

Leigh pick up the ball after knocking it on going for Lomax, the hosts break away but the referee pulls it back – our ball.

Leopards get a golden chance after an O’Brien kick stops inches off the line, Welsby slips as he picks up and the linesman puts his flag up – would love to see a closer look of that.

The hosts kept well in their own half after the attack.

Percival drives us close to the line twice, Dodd on the last tries to go back to the short-side but is stopped.

Good defence Saints! Leigh again knock on coming out of their own 30m, McIntosh this time.

Leigh knock on by our line! The away end rises as one to cheer that one.

Leigh fans find their voice after that call, the Leopards on field respond and get a chance in the left corner after a Makinson knock on following a Leigh lost ball.

GLDO forced.

Saints dive into the corner with Makinson, the referee sends it up as a try but after a lengthy check the video ref gives an obstruction and no try is confirmed.

Our fans are fuming with that call.

The hosts go to play out wide early, Makinson cuts down Charnley though and the Leopards then knock-on through Leutele.

Hanley threatens a break, but a brilliant tackle by Percival brought him down.

Welsby catches a O’Brien kick well. Leigh really wanting to make his a physical battle, our men do too. Bruising collisions already!

Welsby shakes off an Ipape shot and takes more metres, it takes two more Leigh men to stop him and move him back.

Even better defence again from Saints, the Leopards held by their own 40m.

The Red V held by the halfway line this time, a hanging Lomax bomb is chased thunderously by Mata’utia and Batchelor.

Good reply by our boys, the Saints hold Leigh by the midway point for their first attack.
